A woman called me yesterday, asking about what kind of cards I was selling.

I tried to tell her how every card is handmade, with papers from foreign countries. I offered to show her my portfolio. But when I told her the price per card. She backed off.

I got into this business to be different from the competition. But people hear the word "card" & all they can imagine is Hallmark.

I wish there was another word for what I do, because my artwork is more than just simple greeting cards.

It is easy to feel discouraged when someone doesn't understand the time, effort and love that goes into a craft. Breaks your heart. But think of all of the happiness your crafts have brought to others.
